“Let not your hearts be troubled,

Ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In My father’s house are many mansions,

If it were not so,

I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you.

And if i go and prepare a place for you,

I will come again,

And receive you unto myself.

For where I am,

There ye may be also.

Amen”

The boy stood at the grave,

his face swollen from withholding tears

The footsteps of many,

leaving him with silence,

left a mark larger than the footprint in the fallen snow.

And when one might think of an end,

one sees themselves

on the path of a lonely road.

And as far as bliss goes,

the inevitability of endings,

overthrows the concept of ignorance,

bringing one down to what the one denies as reality.

The boy sits in silence,

as the sky begins to pity,

with snowflakes falling as a cry,

as one lands on the boy's hand.

He looks at its design,

He looks at its intricacy,

He looks at its beauty,

He looks at its delicacy,

He watches it melt,

melting by the warmth of his hand.

The scene swims in the melody,

of melancholic instruments.

And the after is left to the thought of the boy,

And the audience.

To be in the boy’s shoes,

would be to think of the unimaginable,

but his story doesn’t end there.

The boy travels through a bumpy road,

he stumbles down a few holes,

he climbs up a few trees,

he sees the darkness of coal,

and dances in the orange of the dawn.

Days that seemed lonely,

now feel like home,

And places that felt sad,

feel nostalgic.

Endings are what even bliss can’t ignore,

Perhaps for the better or worse.

The boy’s smile returns.
