There are several types and kinds of identities when one actually thinks about it. Some people accept, some people do not but each person has their own identity that they have created or made through their actions and ideas. Here is a short poem talking about accepting our own identities.

Who am I?

Someone's family, someone's friend,

Shy, outspoken, ambivert,

Accepting ourselves as we are

Why seek validation?

Sometimes crazy, sometimes lazy,

Being with the ones who welcome me,

Doing what we derive pleasure from,

Why seek authentication?

Facing success as well as failure,

Acquiring how to achieve the goal from our own experiences,

Being motivated even if it's just baby steps,

Why seek corroboration?

Being blithe about what others think,

Loving myself and what am passionate about,

Why seek verification from others for who I am?

Because all that matters is I am someone to me!
